One Year Commemoration Of The Yonge Street Tragedy

April 23, 2019 at 9am - 6pm

We remember the beautiful sunny day one year ago when tragedy hit our neighborhood. We also remember how our community came together to care for each other and to heal. We will gather once again - to remember and to heal.

Throughout The Day:

Sidewalk Chalk and Community Canvas

We will reclaim Yonge with Colour by leaving drawings and messages of love along the West side of Yonge Street. Chalk will be available along the street throughout the day. Canvases will be placed at Olive Square and Mel Lastman Square.

Music Heals

Musicians will bring music to our streets at Mel Lastman Square and Olive Square throughout the day. Local musicians are welcome to signup for a slot.

Trauma Care

Challenging memories and emotions may surface on this day. Trauma Care Counsellors as well as therapy dogs will be available at Olive Square and Mel Lastman Square.
